Taj Mahal on stamps and Postmarks…

Hi ! Here  are some nice stamps and postmarks issued on Taj Mahal, the Pride of India. Surniame issued a stamp on Taj in 1997. Cuba issued a set featuring seven modern wonders of the world on 16 August 2007. The First day Cancellation depicts Taj Mahal. Nicaragua issued a set of 3 stamps on famous women of the world in 1996. New Stamps on Nehru and Mother Teresa

Date of Issue – 12 February 2010

Hi ! Here are some new stamps on Jawaharlal Nehru and Mother Teresa. These two world famous India personalities appear on 2010 stamps. Cuba recently issued stamp featuring Nehru. Serbvia issued a stamp to commemorate Birth Centenary of Mother Teresa. Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia issued a joint issue on Mother Teresa. Bosnia issued a stamp on 27 August, Antigua & Barbuda also issued  souvenir sheet to commemorate 100th Birth anniversary of Mother Teresa. My thanks to Kenneth Sequeira of Dubai for today’s Post. Hi ! Here is a new postage stamp issued this year on Mother Teresa. I have not written about this stamp earlier. This postage stamp was issued by Albania on 26 August 2010 to commemorate birth Centenary of Mother Teresa. Thanks to Mr Shrikant Parikh, Ahmedabad for today’ post. Mother Teresa is one of the most famous personalities featured on stamps by several countries this year and the stamps are very popular among collectors all over the world. New Stamps on Mother Teresa

The Philatelic Bureau of Papua New Guinea  issued three stamp sets commemorating the three world famous personalities Mother Teresa, John Paul II  and  Pope Benedict XVI.   John Paul II and gave Mother Teresa the title. Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. Mother Teresa won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and in 1980 India's highest civilian honor the Bharat Ratna for her humanitarian work.

Pope John Paul served 26 years as the pope until his death April 2nd in 2005. He was acclaimed as one of the most influential leaders of the twentieth century; he significantly improved the Catholic Church's relations with Judaism, Islam, the Anglican Communion, and the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Pope Benedict XVI is the 265th and current at the head of the Catholic Church. On April 19th 2005 he was elected to become pope and celebrated his Papal Inauguration Mass on April 24th 2005. He succeeded John Paul II. Pope Benedict is from Utrecht and is the ninth German pope.
