Two Leopards and a Fringe

Wow, haven't posted for 5 whole days! I'm gearing up to reopen my shop so things have slightly been out of whack. Apart from selling vintage & thrifted items, I'll be trying my hand on remaking vintage stuff so it's a bit more tedious than before. I'm not really sure why I love punishing myself with so much work at one time but I already started so might as well give it a try. lol.  Putting up an outfit post again, yay! Haven't done this in awhile so here goes. :)

The leopard maxi skirt was something I had for awhile now. I was telling my mom one time about how bummed I was that I didn't get this leopard print skirt on ebay and she remembered that she saw this at a thrift shop. Guess it was for me because when I went to the thrift store the next day it was still there! This made me a happy camper but for some reason I haven't worn it until now.

And finally got a fringe again! Also cut off about an inch or two of my hair. Was really tempted to tell my hairstylist to chop it at shoulder length but I resisted the urge because I know I'm going to get really impatient waiting for it to grow back out again.

The Kate Shirt

Thanks to everyone who commented on the previous entry! I'll definitely find more interesting items to feature on that segment. For now, here's an outfit post. This is nothing special though, just a basic outfit I wore when I headed out to the bank. Had to request for a bank certificate the other day. It was raining pretty hard so made sure to wear something really comfy. I'm still a bit sick, believe it or not. My flu hasn't completely gone away which sucks so bad. 

Anyway, for the outfit; the shirt is what I like to call my "Kate the Great" shirt. I love her. :)

The fuchsia watch doesn't tell time properly but I really like the color of the strap.It's accompanied by my cross wood bracelets, DIY friendship band, a gold bangle my cousin gave me and my staple silver watch.

Gold with a Touch of Red

 Thanks to everyone who commented on the previous post! It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one lovin' that special touch of red. Still recovering from the flu but finally managed to drag myself out of bed to run a few errands. Of course, I just had to wear something red when I headed out. Just stuck with the basics since I really didn't want to wear anything too fussy.

I love this gold sweater. Had this for awhile but didn't get to wear it until now. It was back from my gold hoarding days. The black apple necklace is also very pretty. Bought this online at Multiply but I forgot the shop name. :(

I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. I've been sick lately and it's been a struggle to even get up from bed. Anyway, like what I'm feeling right now. This will be a hodgepodge of things I've received the past few weeks as well random outfit posts that I took when I went out last week. I hope to get back to blogging regularly soon and visit all your lovely blogs. Thanks so much for all of your sweet comments as well. Really appreciate it. :)

My sister gave this to me. Oddly enough, it's the same font as the "Love" tatt on my finger. :)

Love this jacket. I'm still hunting down for a black or red one. 

This black jumper has the coolest mini studs on the shoulders. I love how it adds enough pop to the plain black. The pants are Jill Stuart's. I love the ethnic print but I'm thinking about transforming them into shorts. Not sure whether I can rock printed pants.

Wore this last week when I went out to process some papers. (Hence the blue folder.) I normally don't clip my hair like this anymore but I was tired of how my fringe was too long. Might trim it off soon. What do you think? I used to look like this with my fringe:

Can't Beat A Smiley Face

In an attempt to live up to my promise in wearing more color, I decided that I needed canary yellow shorts in my closet. (conclusions like that often happen in a heartbeat) Couldn't find one anywhere so did the next best thing, diy!

Got inspired by similar smiley shorts I saw at Bitching & Junkfood before. I know that the colors seem a little "too summer" (we're in monsoon season in PI) so I paired it with knee socks. It rains in the afternoon anyway so I think the look worked out fine.

These cut-out sleeve tops are everywhere but I didn't really wanna spend money buying one (plus I couldn't find one locally) so I just tweaked my favorite vintage polo. Fell in love with the color when I first saw it. It's a gorgeous, shiny eggplant shade.

I still want to distress the shorts a bit more but I really just wanted to wear it asap. It's time consuming to distress denim. Will get around to that later on, I guess. Hope you're having a great week so far. Cheers!

Gimme Some Color

I've always been hesitant when it comes to wearing colorful outfits. On the one hand, I love looking at colors but then again, I feel that it deviates from my personality. It's weird and I know it's probably all in my head but I feel like I'm betraying myself every time I wear bright colors or try out color blocking. (It even took me some time before I decided to create this post and this isn't even a real attempt at color blocking! lol)

I've always favored black, reds or dark colors instead of brighter ones that even a regular "green" makes me hesitant. I guess it's because bright colors draw so much attention and I don't think I can handle that. Not sure if that makes sense, anyway gotta step out of this rut. Here's what I wore:

Hopefully I'll feel more comfortable wearing colorful outfits in the future. Always admire fellow bloggers who can don pinks, yellows and bright blues so effortlessly. :)

Snake(y) Sunday

Forgive the cheesy title, I couldn't resist. Wasn't supposed to post anything today but I realized might not get to do it tomorrow. Anyway, here's an outfit I wore yesterday when I headed out. Even though it's a couple of months old already, I'm still loving the snakeprint trend. I still have several items I haven't used before that I know I should wear. Here are the pics. (Oh, this time no special editing effects. :)

My final look before I headed out the door. Had to switch to my trusty Chucks since I realized I needed to drop by the grocery to get some stuff. Makes it so much easier to navigate around those aisles.

Okay, just one edited image. :) These were the shoes I had planned to wear. Have had them for some time but they never get the exposure or use they deserve. I've always settled for function over fashion. I really should learn to make fashion sacrifices now.

This Could All Go Down Tomorrow

Wore this outfit a couple of days ago. We had gloomy weather then (until now) hence, I wanted to wear something colorful and printed to cheer me up. Already got that sheer red polo top from 52 Sundays that I mentioned before and I'm loving it! Can't wait to wear it as a polo proper. 

I guess it's obvious by now that I'm still hung up on this online image editor. I just love the vintage look it does.

Both the shirt and shorts are DIY. Will try and create a post on handpainted shorts soon. Also, although it's hard to tell from the pictures, the cross is actually neon green and then purple lace with a slight fringed hem. Originally had see through lace on the hem but it didn't look nice with the shorts so I ripped it off and added the fringe. It's my prototype shirt, hopefully I'll be able to sell them at my shop.

The Poncho Effect

Thanks to everyone that commented and gave out their style ideas on how to wear the poncho! I really appreciate it. Mostly everyone said that it's best worn with skinny jeans and high shoes/booties. I also liked the idea of wearing it with shorts but alas the weather was quite wet so I opted for jeans instead. Here's what I came up with.

I initially tried it with wide-legged pants to give it a more seventies look but I knew the weather wasn't gonna cut me some slack and I'll just end up with a really dirty hem. Switched to skinnies instead.

My favorite effect from Pixlr-o-matic. 

As you can tell, I've been experimenting with this free online image editor, Pixlr-o-matic. I'm addicted to it right now. The effects are so pretty. I know it's possible to get similar effects with my lomo but I'm too lazy to use it. Maybe one of these days. It Was a Slow Day at the Carnival

First off, thanks and welcome to my new followers! Thanks for all the beautiful comments. I read each one and also make sure to follow back and visit your blogs. It's so inspiring to see everybody else's style. <3

Here's a quick casual outfit post. Wore this the other day when I was heading out to process my business name registration. I've been trying to make this whole business thing official. The shop is currently closed right now but I'm reopening soon and also adding a few handmade items. I just hope everything goes well. I'll give you a sneak peek of what I have in store once everything is official. I'm still in the process of trial and error; finding the best materials etc. Ooh, here's what I wore:

Had this top for some time now and I recently just found it after some closet diving. It's a vintage top that I got from Jacqueline Jarethshop. I'm obsessed with the front applique. After seeing all those gorgeous pieces at Chicwish, I knew I just had to wear this again. 

These American Eagle shorts are DIY. Last used here (when they were still intact.) Added the studs and distressed it a bit. I wish I had added more studs but I ran out. Didn't want to have to order and wait for so long before I could wear them so just went with this. What do you think?

My leather and denim oxfords! Used them for the first time and they're great. They're one size bigger but the laces help to keep them glued onto my feet.
